Slimline Sausages
Customers at John Mettrick & Son were delighted with the arrival of John’s new health conscious banger. After customers who were in slimming groups wanted a healthier alternative to help them shift the extra pounds they had gained over the festive period.
John worked closely with the Food & Drink Forum to create healthier pork (0.4g of fat per 100g) and turkey (0.6g of fat per 100g) sausages. The Food & Drink forum advised John that sausages can only be labelled as low fat if they contain no more that 3g of fat per 100g of product.
By listening to his customers’ requests John has been able to put the much loved banger back on the plate of his health-conscious consumers.
